GOOGle Fiber LAUNCH — “Toy Car World”

To announce the arrival of Google fiber’s 100x faster Internet, the usual product story would have been too small. Instead, we partnered with 1st Ave Machine to create a car-themed installation and accompanying launch video that told the larger story of Google fiber – how speed has altered the history of the Internet itself.

In the Broadband section of the sculpture, we depicted the advent of YouTube as a drive-in movie theater for the toy cars. For production purposes, the YouTube video needed a name. So we called it High-Speed Hot Dog.

A few of us then decided to shoot a trailer for this fake movie, featuring a series of bad puns and an assortment of acting debuts from Venables Bell & Partners' finest employees.

In the end, we just dubbed the whole thing over in Spanish.
